My best discovery yet (thankyou Soph); Sloe Gin.
With cranberry and a slice of orange. WINNER!
Wikipedia: Sloe gin is a red coloured liqueur flavoured with sloe berries, the fruit of the blackthorn, a relative of the plum. Sloe gin has an alcohol content between 15 and 30 percent by volume (30° to 60° proof).
The traditional way of making sloe gin is to infuse gin with the berries. Sugar is required to ensure that the sloe juices are extracted from the fruit. Almond flavoring may also be added.
My never-fail drink of choice: Vodka and Orange juice.
You know the one; you are at the bar, your mind is a little fuzzy, the bartender approaches you, you order your friends drinks but when it comes to your own you can’t make a decision fast enough. That’s when you find yourself saying the usual “and a vodka and orange please…”.
My cheap and nasty drop: Oyster Bay Sav Blanc
A warm night, sitting in a park, whole bottle of wine in a matter of hours. That’s all I remember.
My ‘I-wanna-get-plastered-QUICK’: Taco Bill $30 margarita
If you need a recap, read this.
My ‘I will never go there again’: JAGERMEISTER
Just the smell…. eugh
My favourite cocktail in Melbourne: The ‘Return Of The Mack’ @ Sweatshop
Go go go go go! And get Aidey to make it for you because he gives you extra apricots.

Then how annoying is it when you mess up your fine work doing the DISHES.

Asian Food: Dumplings Plus, Don Don’s, Sushi Burger, Shogun J Pub & Cookie.
Dumplings are almost a religion in Melbourne, I’ve definitely done my dash with those steaming lumps of god knows what, but needless to say – anything is better than Maccas or KFC. Sushi Burger was favourite discovery this year, and who doesn’t a cheap, delicious Bento box from Don Dons? If you go to Cookie, tell Sophie I said hi. Hahaha.
Mexican Food: Blue Corn, Hi-Tech Burrito
My fucking god. I’d like to live at Blue Corn please. If you have the chance to get to St Kilda I’d definitely recommend hitting this place up. I’d also recommend not eating for at least 2 days before hand if you really want to make the most of the experience.
Hi-Tech Burrito is the same, don’t go if you have previously eaten that day. I went there with Memphis and Fuego once, we all got a little over excited with the burritos and food coma x 3 ensued.
Hangover food: Crust.
Crust has really been with me through the thick and the thin. Days of pure hate for my internal organs, in laziness and in entertaining, Crust has been there to provide me with Peri Peri Chicken pizza goodness. This mentality is widespread throughout my little melbourne crew – I think 360 and Fuego alone could keep them in business, but seriously don’t talk to me if you haven’t tried it*.
*denotes international loves exempt from this statement as Crust is only available in Australia.
Snack food: Edamame
I can’t shy away from these little guys. MAN I LOVE EDAMAME.
