Courvoisier Summer of Punch Foursquare Tour

So if you are anything like me you’d be on the Foursquare wagon right now, and if you aren’t on it yet I can guarantee you’ll be on it within the next year. Remember when we all hated Twitter? Well, Foursquare is one of those kinds of situations.

Foursquare have teamed up with Courvoisier for their Summer of Punch campaign to give away some punch kits and a trip for two to the Courvoisier Château in Jarnac, France and it’s easy as pie to enter.

What do you have to do to win some alcohol and a trip to France then? Well firstly, if you haven’t already signed up to Foursquare then do so (and friend me on there while you’re at it). Then, visit one of the following bars:

Oh Hej, I went to Sweden!

I just got back from 5 days in Gothenburg. Photos, hurrah!

Dammsugare means vacuum cleaner in Swedish. As you can imagine the moment I saw this sign I was on my ‘Damnnnnn sugar’ macking talk.

This little girl looked like a doll. Infact everyone in Sweden looked like dolls. I didn’t think people came so blonde, tanned and blue-eyed.

Dammmnnn sugar.

It seems I did leave something quite important in Sweden though….. Miss Abena. We got to the boarding gates at the airport and due to some passport problems she’s had to stay back for another week. Given its her hometown it’s no biggie; infact I think she slyly planned the mess up at the airport.

All in all, Gothenburg is lovely…. but waaayyyy too small a town for me. Great place to visit if you are down to eat, shop and relax though. Now for my next stop….. Paris maybe?

MARTINI CALORIE SWAP!

So I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t conscious of calories when getting my drink on, and being the broke aussie immigrant I am, I’ve taken a liking to cheap wine and cheap cocktails (Ok, I admit I was into cheap alcohol before I left Melbourne). Whilst this is an enjoyable habit to have at the best of times (my dance moves have improved by nearly 80%), it’s not the best way to be handling things when you are trying to watch your weight.

What I’m trying to get at is that I’ve just stumbled upon an alternative that I’m hanging to try, that seems to be just as tasty and minus the extra kilojoules. Check out MARTINI. Sources suggest that by switching to Bianco and soda, or Rosato and soda instead of your usual white wine spritzers and rosé, you can cut down your caloric intake quite drastically. Which for me just means I can save all of those extra calories up for more important things like kebabs, Nandos and chicken katsu curry.

I’ll drink to that – anyone care to join me?

Whilst I know I speak with most of the people that read this thing regularly, I also know that there is a lot of people I don’t speak to and one question I keep getting asked is “When are you coming back to Melbourne?”
So the truth of the matter is that I’m not. I’ve sparked a blazing love affair with London and whilst Melbourne will always be my first love, London is just offering me so much more right now.
Thanks to my beautiful English grand-ma-ma I was able to swindle a 5 year visa and I intend on making the most of out that, so whilst the past few months have been full of highs and lows, I’ve decided to set up shop and call this crazy city my home for a while.

So I guess this is my official goodbye my darling Melbourne… I’ll see you again very soon. We are meant to be together – just not at this point in time.

And as for you London.. well, let me just wrap my arms around you and rub you up for a while.
